I bought an LED cargo light and replaced the dome light in our 72 Gran Torino Sport. It was same size as the factory standard dome light but 10 times brighter. No need for the dome light with map lights. Would be easy enough to attach above rear window in a Ranchero with minor mods to headliner
Bought it at Walmart for about $10 Really lights up interior well Last photo taken in shop with lights off in total darkness only the LED light illuminating the interior
Yea! After taking one too many tokes that was half the fun trying to get your paper work together for the LEO
My 79 has illuminated mirrors in both visors so a dome light hasn't been missed. Looked like the visors from a Mark V Lincoln so I put a pair in a buddy's Ranchero, seem to be the same so it was easy to just add a power wire for each and dye to match if needed. Quick add on without cutting a hole in the headliner.
And, I have '80s visors in Babe right now, which only needed a slight modification to make them mount up, so lighted mirror ones from '79-'91 would also work.
I'm old and eyesight is for shit. Next will be LED lights in the gauge cluster so can see the Speedo better at night
I found wire pigtail in harness by drivers door that was hot when door opened.Installed light on center of cubby.Led upgrade in future.
