This is going to be the thread for following the progress on my 1972 Ranchero
Since I decided to with Candy Blue, and she has a
"Fish Mouth" grill, it seems only appropriate to name her "Doree" after the blue fish in "Finding Nemo"
Following pics are Doree before any real work starts.
Push her outside for a bath, now gotta wait for some help to push this "tank" back inside!
Keep watching, a bunch to follow

Still gonna try to crank her this week-end

20140906_133912 (360x640).jpg Even after pressure wash with parts cleaner its still dirty. That damn Idaho dirt is worse than this clay down here. Well, maybe not that bad but tough to get off

    Looks like a good project.
Make sue you check the inner Cowl condition before you get too far, They have a tendency to rust out and the only way to check is if it leaks water into the Cab or pull the glove box out and take a look.

Yep, you've got some work ahead of you, for sure. But, it'll be worth it. Good luck.

    You own a Ranchero.
That makes you a man among men.

Seems like few talk about the monies invested in their Rancheros. Almost said "trucks", are they that, or cars? Anyhow, tertab, could you be talked into revealing how much dough was laid out to buy her? Just wondering, I know it's none of my business, and you can just say so, if you prefer. In our neck of the woods, asking prices are steep: steeper than would fit the equation proposed by the Mod whose name I've forgotten (sorry). Torino-based restores around here are asking 10 to 15 grand! mo.

I already get that from anatomically male members here.:p
There are female members on this site, and they do a good job of holding their own here.
As a matter of fact, they deserve a higher position for owning a Ranchero than a guy does.
By the way, that has nothing to do with the fact that I like women. :D

If I recall, you chased them off. Let me send one of them an e-mail to see if she has something to say about it.

Isn't it Dory? I ask because I've seen that movie at least 200 times. It was my little girls favorite,...and it was pretty good, actually. :)

Not sure of the spelling of "Doree". Took a shot in the dark.
Price? Not a problem. I paid $3,500.00 for Doree from Desert Classics, in Butte , Montana, and $1,500.00 to ship from Idaho to here, just South of Jacksonville, Florida.
$5,000.00 so far invested, but worth it to me, and just a drop in the bucket of what I'll sink into her over time.
    oh, and GO JAGUARS!

Let's focus on Rancheros people. Namely Dory on this thread, (yes, it is spelled "Dory")
