Generous Ford now wants $149 to up date the wife's 2012 Edge navigation system. Mailing for the SD card is "COMPLIMENATARY" - big whoop.

Any chance someone else makes an update for these Ford systems? My old Garmin updates are still free.

They did the same with my wife's car, I refuse to pay the extortion when the Bluetooth links to the car from mine and her phone that I already pay a monthly fee.

Without the coded double talk, I do to, I have imprinted every exit strategy for every where I have ever lived.

My son rides with me in the service truck every day. He tried to get me on that GPS map crap, but he quit after he figured out that I could do it faster with a Thomas Guide while driving than he could on his phone with a 4G connection.
A whole lot of people have either forgotten, or never learned how to get around by dead reckoning and a map. If China shoots down our GPS satellites those people won't be able to find their butts with both hands.

Apparently, you with all respect, missed my point, I didn't need or require the guidance of the Thomas Guide. Which I would have to say is, or was a good study guide.

If you can go places you have not been to without a map of some kind, my hat is off to you.

I have that gift, thanks for the gesture. My wife has always been amazed at how I could do that.

You might have your wife fooled, but take it from me, it is unwise to brag about that fact.

The cell phone is the best way to figure out where you are going, by far (unless you want to keep updating your vehicles navigation system, which are really good too). I haven't seen a map yet that will alert you to traffic backups that show up on your route.

I love those cell phone users. They end up all going where the thing tells them to, creating a huge traffic jam on streets not set up for the load, and get out of my way. I have had my son check on a couple of occasions to find out where the doltphones were sending people so I could go another way and avoid the lemmings.

That's got to be the hundredth time you've said, "I'm old, and hate change!", just not in those exact words.

I see your reading comprehension hasn't improved.
Or were you just tossing something out at random?
Those glasses look good on you, by the way, and dropping the cooter beard was a wise choice.

No company in there for you today.
Once the Geritol kicks in he will be fine.
