If you're using a car cover like I did before we built our garage, this works great. No need to punch a hole in your cover with this one, just unscrew the mast & throw it in your car. It's stainless and in great shape. I'm asking $15 to cover shipping in the lower 48. I prefer PayPal, but cash or check works too. PM me with your address if you're interested.
Antenna arrived today, leaning by my backdoor as I headed out for work an hour ago or so. The base appears different than my 63 but I'm sure i can rig something up to make it work. Thanks again beerbelly.
Glad you got it. The base is pretty close to the shape of the factory-style one, which was as close as I could find in one with a removable mast.
Pic of my cars original broken antenna; Pic of new removable antenna from Jay (beerbelly); And pic of dragon fly that loves landing on the antenna; And son of a gun the radio works! Takes a few seconds after switching it on, kind of like how my old Fender twin reverb warms up, wonder if these old radios are tube driven. AM only through a single dash speaker, but with the oldies station tuned in, everything is groovy.
