I talked with someone who was interested in the brackets and spindles from the '76 LTD we parted out over a year ago. He wanted them to upgrade his '78 Thunderbird's front brakes. Has anyone heard of this?

According to the MPC, the spindles are the same. 74/78 A includes 76 LTD, 74/(79) B includes 78 Thunderbird. Or, am I missing something?

I'm saying, that the 74/78 'A' bracket and caliper (not sure about the rotor or pads) are attached to the 74-79 'B' steering knuckle.

The '74 up full size and intermediates use "roughly" the same spindles, same ball joints, same wheel bearings and seals, same calipers and brake pads. There are differences in brake caliper mounting brackets, outer tie rod ends(but most models of '74 up full size and intermediates interchange) and of course rotor diameters/bolt circle differences between full size and intermediates. Hope this helps.
