Looks like we took over California here as Gas is still 2.70 a gallon. We have the highest county tax in the US.
1968 then again in 1969 here locally in Tennessee saw $.05 a gallon for 101 octane during our gas wars. Thought it was horrible in 1973 during the fake gas shortage when gas jumped from $.25 up to $.50 - - - - It's been down hill ever since for the consumer.
I can recall when it ranged between .19 and .26 for the most part with occasion excursions up and down - then it seemed to climb up to around .29 - .33 during the period '68 - '73 - and then it tripled with the gas crisis in '74. I can still recall folks telling the attendant to "put in a dollar's worth" and that actually added enough fuel to the car to make a difference.
I too, remember getting a couple dollars worth and riding all night long... Down to $1.98 here now though...
a hammy pop? hehehe well today actually I feel like death warmed over... chest pains all day not a great one for me... cold front is moving in..... maybe thats it...
You're on to something there, I have been told I am bad luck for fishing too, I drive the fish away. Maybe being away I drive the gas prices down? I will be home next Tuesday if all goes well so expect the prices to climb again, sorry been here to long as it is. On another note, I remember buying gas for 0.99 in either 99 or 2000, I went ahead and filled my 55 gallon drum for that price.
do you have fall/winter allergies like me?? heh...not bad in the summer but once fall hits...the mold comes out...ugh.... plays hob with my lungs...so Im on a daily allergy pill now to keep breathing without lung lock..especially when i run... better living through chemistry.
$1.81 on average around town this morning - some places a touch lower and "name brand" (Shell, BP, etc.) .07 - .10 higher...
... and ... Maybe it is because the gas gods heard you call us all a..holes, or perhaps because you live in Mexifornia and you have to drum up a lot of revenue to support your "illegal alien" habit.
