    The surrounds are very hard to find in decent shape. It was a bad design.

    That one isn't even in decent shape. The same goes for the 70-71 grille housings. Try finding one of those that has all the top reinforcement gussets intact and isn't sagging. The long front end design, while beautiful, makes it impossible to reach the engine without leaning on the grilles, even if you try not to. I bet most were junk by 1973.

    Heck! They were junk by 72. That is why Ford quit making them.

    Touche, or in your case, Douche.

    The fact is; Ford went to the full frame, heavy, boat Ranchero because the ElCamino sales were kicking thier ass. Please note that after 1972 the Ranchero went downhill like Denny when he hit 75. Had they stayed uni-body, like all cars are now, they would have been way the hell ahead of the curve.

    Nah! The 72 was the pinnacle, so naturally it was downhill from there.

    That skinny design they made then and now are wy we real men drive full frame cars !!!!!

    And yes i'm aware that Cy"clone" is the same as your Chero.
