Yes, we celebrate our independence, not just that today is the fourth day of the month of July. Our founders reasoned that there was a better form of government other than by successive generations of inbred despots. The 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence put their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor on the line so that we could be free. Many of them suffered greatly as a result. None of their stories are taught in our schools today. To them, we say THANK YOU!
Most of the signers ended up penniless, as they committed everything they owned to fund the revolution. And our servicemen and women who have since served and now serve, have allowed us to enjoy the freedoms we enjoy today.
