Horns - HI and LO ?

Cleaning up parts for repainting after 57 years. An unmolested desert car.
I must be late to the party but I just found out that these cars have 2 different horns. A HI and a LO.

 

Either one by itself will sound "hollow", together they produce the solid sound.

 

Rally want to sound off ? Search for the two mid-range horns from a 70's or 80's full size Cadillac. Add a relay to power them up. Distinct sound and loud too. Almost as good as a train's air horns.

 

Reminds me of Ray Magliozzi's Ebay ad: "Looks like cutoff guy needs a new seat cover."

 

Put a set of 72 eldo triple horns with 10" trumpet in the 72 500 and they blasted!They could knock the solder out of a radiator!Finally quit working after I installed 130 amp alternator.Running air horns now,still effective..
