So - In my former life - I was a high school band director. I still play my trumpet, and have been playing with the Nashville Wind Ensemble since 1997. Last week at rehearsal - one of my friends comes in the band room and points out that there is "Hybrid Parking" outside. Of course - I had to check it out. That sort of stuff really gets me going - so, I got to thinking that this was a great photo-op. I was left with a decision. I had to find an appropriate vehicle to park in a reserved “Hybrid Parking” spot. What do you look for? Me? I look for something that has a carbon foot print of a small third world country or a global sub-standard corporation. It’s important that you find a vehicle with a much horsepower as it has cubic inches. You really should find a vehicle that when you start it – a baby seal goes into respiratory distress OR at the very least leafs fall off trees. When the engine idles – a polar bear should ideally stress because the ice he’s sitting on is getting smaller and he won’t be able to drink his Coca-Cola. Where do I find this??? Thanks to my good friend Jim – the best selection was… A 1971 Ford Ranchero GT that has a 429 “Cobra Jet” V8 Nothing says "green" like a good old J code Ranchero (My H-code is down for repairs) As an evil conservative – it’s my *duty* to make wise vehicle choices. Together – we can fight global warming…. 10 mpg at a time. I was actually proud it leaked..... "good boy"
