So - this is my 4th trip to Scottsdale in January to work the Shelby booth trying to sell cobras.

I broke away this morning, and took a moment to look at what was what.

I happened to stumble up on this lovely ride.

I asked the gentleman if he was selling the car in the auction - he said...

    YUUUUUUUUUUUUP.

He had some thing in the bed that looked like a mechanical bull or something.

    Lovely.

That was the Jessie James Ranchero on Monsters Garage. They had a mechanical Bull in the back and tried to Buck Cowboys off of it with the air bag suspension. The Ranchero did not fair well as they could not buck off the Cowboys. That thing is Beat to Death. They actually should have used a 72-76 with a Full Frame Construction not a Uni Body car.

I figured you guys would know. It was uber-rough. Some kid had it, and he was pretty cocky about it.

If it did well - maybe my white 71 with the clacky lifters is worth 45k or so????;)

Yeah. Last night's BJ Auction was a shot across the bow for me. Watched that 71 Torino Cobra bring in $100,000 and it wasn't as nice as some I know about. We better quit beating around the bushes folks, the speculators are starting to look at our rides and that can make it impossible to afford them. I think if you ever wanted a nice Ranchero you better grab one real soon. Look at what happened to the Mopars and Chevys.

I agree. Some of the members here are sitting on gold mines as long as they keep fixin em and keeping them. Thats why I got a 74' cause I believe it will be the most saught after ranchero when they get crazy expensive. (It's the railroad tie in the front) I plan on driving it till I can't see anymore then selling it and moving to an island somewhere.

OK, I got a little carried away there. Seriously though, I do think they will be worth quite a bit in years to come. They are unique hot rods and hot rods are selling for stupid amounts of money.

Wow, nice pics, Trikar, and some nice buys for someone! Watched Auction last night on Speed, a 54 Parcard went for $141K, nice but not that nice!! That Jesse James is a weirdo, should stick to messing up bikes, JMO. They had a wood chipper he made of a PT Cruiser on the other night too. Reminded me of that great movie, "Fargo"!! Need to watch again :)
