My friend Joe and I finally made it to Texas, five days of long driving with Babe and the F150 (aptly christened "The S#!tbox") stuffed full. Despite heavy rain, running the F150 off the freeway into the snowy median, a blowout and new tire on Babe's right rear, snow from Idaho through Utah, headlamp wiring problems and a non-working speedo, both were able to 'keep up' with the speed limits on Interstate, U.S. and state highways, no matter how twisty-turny they were. Pics to follow after resizing.
Enjoy ! You are in a different world now with entirely different customs to learn. Glad you made it in one piece !
So am I. That run into the median should be used to give newb NASCAR drivers practice in riding out a full-on four-wheel skid. I swear, I went at least a hundred yards as I slowed down.
Babe performed beautifully, and all fluids look good, very little leaking of oil, though, so I'll go back through and re-snug the oil pan and valve cover bolts, check the timing cover, and front/rear crank seals.
'Silvertwinkiehobo' is my other username, and though I am familiar with why that might bring up someone's ire, when I inform them of why I chose it, I have the reasonable expectation they'll calm down.
