if they were original..i'd be wary of them..but being that they are new...they should be perfectly adequate...although if you're going down the 1/4 a lot.. I'd think about 4 or 5 pts in the future.. my originals were completely shot. Can't put a number on safety dontchaknow..
My buddy Phil says these work good... http://wescoperformance.stores.yahoo.net/seatbelts.html and I believe him... ...so I already bought mine.
What did he do to make a phone pole so mad it chased him down the street and run into the back of him??? Gotta watch out for those dog gone sneaky phone poles and similar items like "trees"...
That crash was more a seat test than a restraint test. If you want to go with 30 year old technology - which you would if you are doing a concourse resto - why not keep the OE belts. If you update your car at all, you should get a good seat (with a head restraint that ends up directly behind your head) and at least a 4-point. Short of redesigning the whole undercarriage with crush boxes and stuff, the seat is all you can do.
Seats with summit "L" brackets which most of you could make yourselves. Note the white nylon bushings to make clearance space between the seat tracks and the brackets.
nice work huevos!! hope to show some progress on poncho soon. a wet wild winter has made us be molasses (sp?) but the sun is starting to shine again and we're getting VERY motivated. thanks for the inspiration. and the photos ROCK IT!!
I like HR's door panels. And the floormats accent the seats very well. Dashpad still sucks a big one though.
lol..as soon as i get my modified stereo speaker in the dash location i PROMISE the pad will be forthcoming....geeezz...slave drivers.. thanx folks..
