Laser sight huh. My 38 with a 2 1/2" barrel, I agree on accuracy I would have trouble shooting myself.

No laser, although I wouldn't mind getting one. I am just really stable, both mentally and physically.

Lasers like tracers, work both ways.

It's not my intention to always lug it around. But I might see a car I really want, so I like to be prepared.

Be sure to ask for the fob too. It's embarrassing when you drive off and the vehicle alerts you that the key is not detected. You then have to go back and politely ask for the key. Awkward.

Do what everyone else does, just leave it running until you are ready to ditch it.

What? No. We have 20-30 cars around work at any given moment, and sometimes they are driven off without the key in them.

I can see that happening, at least until every person there get's stranded after they shut the cars off like at a restaurant. I am amazed at how far some of those "keyless go" fobs can be detected by some cars. 06 E-500 can register the fob from over 100 yards while the E-350 senses it at only half that distance. Just about have to keep the fobs in a faraday box to keep the cars from powering up constantly and killing the batterys.

That's odd. We've never seen that here. We'll have an occasional dead battery, if a cars been sitting for 6-7 months, but normally keep the fobs in the cup holder the entire time they are in the building.

What does a key fob have to do with FF getting a gun or is it one of those guns that has got a electronic device to prevent someone else from using it?

That's a great question. If I were a mod, I'd change the name of this thread to Guns and Fobs.

Or, alternatively, "Is FF going to shoot himself while playing with his Fob"

I would venture FF is way more competent than that Dan. His ventures into idiocy are too well thought out, not acts of compulsion. On the fob quirk, both cars were sold new from Beverly Hills Mercedes and one owners. Maybe the dealership does something in the engineering mode access to the computers on women owned cars ?
