That's the year with the front clip that works well on a '64/'65 Ranchero or Falcon; the fender side detail matches up perfectly into the door detail.

Hey BB,so basically it’s a falcon that’s a little fancier?really a sharp looking car, never seen one before, and the dash is really ornate, lots of chrome, really liked the look of it

Never heard of the 404 model...cool looking car. The 404 badge threw me....I know of the 406 and 410 FE's....guess it's not an engine badge, rather a model badge.

Yep, essentially the same cars except for a few stampings, badgings & interior bits. This 202/404 model year's fenders match up to the Falcon doors much better that the later year Comet fronts:

Yeah he's probably a little heavy on it, but he's factoring in sentimental value. Man I wish the roads were filled with cars like that still. Gorgeous thing.

Worth $8-10K, is my bet. And I'm being generous.

The buying public is one fickle bunch of hombreys. Been watching some tv auctions and I see no real rhyme or reason lately. Some really nice cars are almost giveaways while some run of the mill common rides bring top dollar. Then the next day the auction results flip the opposite direction. I give up on predicting what a vehicle might bring on a given day.

It would be prudence if I had money on these prices but I am only observing so I really can't be quitting. It isn't like when you look at a car and can give a close guess as to how it will fare in a crash test. Bidding lately has been all over the map.

Well, they do auctions at various cities, so that makes sense.

    I'd sure like a 63 Thunderbolt.

There actually were a few lightweight 63 big block cars that preceeded the 64 Thunderbolts, we talking un-obtainum there without a huge bank to play with.
