they where called lightweights to be dropped by parachute -Willys-ford -gm -Crosley all made prototypes as you see them
It was one of various company's attempts to build a Jeep like vehicle light enough to go with the glider program. Most have Indian or Harley engines. Cute, aren't they ? Sam "Bud" Werner was the local excentric who collected military items and kept all of us locals in four wheel drive parts. He willed his collection to our club providing we would preserve it. We pooled our resources a few years ago and bought Gerald Creely's collection to round out Bud's already huge stock pile. I have been busy hauling the vehicles and other memorabilia from Tupelo, Mississippi where Gerald had his stash. Still have a lot of stuff to bring back and we need to expand our building. We don't charge admission but we will accept any donations. Club members also display our privately owned vehicles. The collection is continually growing so it will be different every time you visit. I find this much more rewarding than being in a car club, even my wife caught the bug and is now a tour guide at the museum. ( www.wernermilitarymuseum.com )
