Would it be possible for you to change my user name from Rich Shrum to bearshrum? I go by bear everywhere else and it's hard for me to remember what to use when I log in to this site. Please let me know, either here or at bearshrum@windstream.net. Thanks!

I think it'd be cooler with a capital 'B', as in Bearshrum.

He wanted it one-word,...Bearshrum, but I'd have gone with BearShrum. Would I have to start over, losing my high post ranking, if I were to change my name to 'Sean Dog' or 'Sean Juan'?

It is now exactly what he asked for "bearshrum" - he already had it from a different join date and I had to merge the two. Complicated process.

I can change yours to either of those - what matters your status to anyone but you? In any event those who care will feel the same way about you regardless of what name you choose. Zero sum gain.

I dont' care one bit about my status,...until others start flaunting their post count (FF), then I need to see where I stand. Plus it makes others jealous.
Zero sum gain? Is that a Korean side dish? I'll be heading there soon, you know.

Yes, too bad we don't have an automated process that assesses the "worth" of posts and assigned a count or not count to each post - that would level a lot...

Do you want your name changed? Send me a PM and we'll talk about it.

Nah, it's too late now. I wish I would have started out differently though. Usiing ones real name on a forum is not a smart thing to do, but that was many years ago. Thanks for the offer though.

Well, at least you didn't use the name of your home town in your ID. Now that would really be dumb! You never know when someone with an axe (or sword) to grind will be passing through your town.

Or using a restaurant chain as a username. Man, dumb.

Near...that's the key word. Near could include several places as big as Foristell.
