I am getting nothing but "not available" from all my sources so far. Sold my F150 ( wife could not climb into it) got her a Lincoln towncar. Now I don't have a trailer hitchj anmd I want to go fishing w/boat. I will also need to know what additional wireing, if any , I might need. Anyone parting out a 68/9 with towing pkg. ?? Also, the same "not avail" on the brake booster. Are any other Ford s interchangable??--Help! the fish are biting and brakes not good ! Thanks

Why not use the Town Car? Even with a 3.08 ratio rear, it's definitely good for 5K pounds factory tow rating. It should also have air ride rear air springs, so that helps with the towing.

You might be in a position where there are not enough cores for the rebuilders to bother with. There are places where they will rebuild your unit. Noticed Cardone on RockAuto is offering rebuilding customer parts. Might try Hemmings Motor News as well. Others have gone to a Hydroboost unit, but that is more work than a swap. Good luck.

I have a frame mounted hitch I took off of my 69... mounts between the rear bumper brackets and the frame. Probably wouldn't be to difficult to fab one up. probably cheaper then shipping. Be glad to give you the dimensions, additional pic's.

I got my brake booster through NAPA.

Your local U-Haul should be able to set up a hitch on your vehicle.

    Is that a factory hitch?

I do not know that for certain. I took it off my 69, and I don't remember it ever not being on the car. It has five bolt holes, two on each side for the frame bolts. And one in the middle behind the ball, that bolts to the sub-frame. I don't think a generic hitch would have this 5th bolt, but I just don't know.

At the same time, my Sales Data Sheet provided with my Marti Report does not indicate a tow package was included on the car. SO????

to pony express rider; Thanks for your input/info on the hitch/booster. Been too busy w/wife and self Golden years (when you get old doctors get all your gold ). napa booster "not avail". On your hitch--would you please send any avail. info, better pix, dimensions , weight etc. and are you close to a Greyhound pkg exoress store. They are the cheapest shipper I've found. Just trying to compare total costs of locating, buying right steel, welding and install, locally versus what you want for your hitch, pkg/handling and shipping. You would think, as a 22yr retired Air Force supply sgt hunting parts for old planes, that I would not be having all this trouble just to go fishing.!!. Thanks in advance for your help. I am in Jasper Ga., 35 mi from Marietta Ga. closest Greyhound station. If needed, my cell is 770-617-0263.
