Hey guys. Just joined up. I've got a 67 that I'm in the process of getting road worthy. I'm a 33 yr old Ford guy. Grew up with a 67 and 68 mustang. First vehicle was a 73 F100 I still own and drive. Looking forward to getting the Rancho going again. Floor pans from front to back are first. Then I'm trying to decide on which Trans and whether or not to undertake a mustang 2 suspension. Anyways, thanks for letting me on board...

I'll get some pics this week. But she's ugly right now. Just pulled the engine/trans on Thurs to prep for the floor pans. Still haven't sopped up all the trans fluid lol.

Ah, my wife looks great in sweatpants and a flannel jacket. She thinks she looks bad.

That 67 may not be ready for Monterrey, but I guarantee she ain't ugly!

That she does. That she does. I mean the 67 not being ugly, of course. Awkward.

What engine/trans combo did you pull?

Its a 289/C4 car that has either that or a 302. Havent verified yet. Wanting a 5.0 carb'd motor with an Aod but Im still undecided.

I have a 460, which is epic, but I think high revving small blocks are cool too. I'd stick with FI, personally, if you can find an entire Mustang motor. Carl did that, so it must be easy (kidding).

I initially wanted to go efi but I dont have time st the moment to do a full conversion and deal with bugs. This will be a daily driver to work (32 miles one way) and I need to get it up and running asap. Right now Im thinking street demon 625 with electronic ignition and run it like that for now. Long term goal is somewhere between 300-400hp 302, Aod, mustang 2 ifs, vintage air, and bucket seats. But I need it tagged and dependable so I can sell my current daily driver. Got too many cars!!

Welcome Alan. Im partial to the 67's as well, so I am really looking forward to seeing what yours looks like. From the description it sounds about typical. I replaced floor pans, some of the cowl area, and some of the cubby behind the seats on mine as well due to rust, so I know what you are dealing with. It will be a very cool car when you have it running, regardless of how it looks. Mine gets all kinds of attention wherever I go, and it is also pretty ugly.

Helps to have friends in low places. And BTW, I was using that phrase before Garth Brooks was a flyspeck on anyone's windshield.

The pics are resized and emailed back to you!
