Very nice and shiney. Me likey the shiney! Well, except for the fact it makes mine look even crappier.

    Nice ride!

Fresno has always had some beautiful hot rod cars (and boats) down there!

I am in the foothills of Sacramento now.

Grew up in So Cal and visited Fresno a lot in the mid 70's and 80's. Now Fresno is my southern most territory.

    Beautiful "Black" paint job!

Mike, what year Cougar are your seats from and did you have to do any modifications to get them to fit?

I honestly don't remember exactly what year, but I "think" it was a '73 Cougar. I pulled them at the local "pick-a-part" for a few bucks and had them done along with the rest of the interior. The truck originally had a bench front seat. I DID have to modify the bottom brackets on the seats so they would match up to the frame bolt holes, but otherwise, they fit fine. This involved about 15 minutes work with an arc welder. And of course I had to install wiring to operate the power driver seat, but this is largely eye wash since nobody drives it but me. I used a direct feed off the battery with an "in-line" fuse.

To be honest, the seats are comfortable and look great, but they do sit a little low for my taste. I'm pretty short in the upper torso despite being six foot tall, so I'd like a little more height. Probably be an easy fix with some spacers and longer bolts; I just never bothered.

Thanks Mike, there is a '72 Cougar in the local parts yard and someone asked me if the seats would fit in their 72-76 Ranchero/Gran Torino.

    Time To Sell It

    Trikar:

I tried to send you a private message, but your mail box is full.

After considerable thought, I think it's time to move the old girl down the road. She needs a new owner with fresh enthusiasm and younger eyes. I'd be interested in anyone's opinion on the best avenue to sell her. I've thought of Ebay and Craig's List of course, but thought there might be a Ranchero specific venue that might be productive.

I also need to do some work on pricing. I really don't know what to expect with this economy, but this is, essentially, a turn key car with less than 2,000miles on a rebuilt engine, all new mechanical and interior systems, and working AC (last time I tried it). Definitely not a "project car".

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Great car Mike. Bucket seats do sit lower than bench seats.

EBay is still the best exposure.
