does anyone know what the thread size is for a 1978 with a 351w for the oil pressure sensor sender? Either the thread size or the npt size if that is applicable. Trying to take it from what it is to a 1/8 npt with a reducer for a gauge. Thanks in advance.

Using an aftermarket sender, I would remove the stalk.

Which gauge type are you installing?

Using a run of the mil electronic one. It will replace the stock sensor with another for the gauge.

Stalk? I’m not familiar with that word.

That's the extension screwed into the block. I don't know why he says to ditch it; I have one on Babe's engine, with the factory gauge sender, and it (knock on wood) doesn't leak.

You must stay indoors a lot to not know what corn grows on, living in Nebraska.

Mine doesn’t have a stalk on it. It’s just right on the block.

That's okay also, but leaks notwithstanding, I prefer having it on a stalk for ease of access.
