Ok, why the heck are El Caminos more popular than Rancheros?

Oh Chit!!! Unless you edited that, I will check, but if I did, I sincerely apologize, CHIT!!!!
The last thing I want to do is call folks names. If I did, must have been a volley...:D
I always pictured you as a trim young man in a field of daisies reaching for the sky, remember that avatar of yours, kinda daisy like......

Really, I don't care. Besides, if you quit calling me names, I would feel bad calling you names. But if you want to look, it's on the previous page.
The one time I pictured you, it was as a somewhat underfed, long haired, hippy-ish, sporting long outdated sideburns and a 70's porn-stache man in his 50's. Then I threw up!!!!!!

Word up I'm Phat, my brother!!!! Yo!~

DF - that is a beautiful ride!!! I went to the Good Guys are show this weekend and saw about a million of them, and all were pretty much great looking. I saw one 70 Chero, and one 70 Gran Torino and I have to tell you that was the highlight of the show for me. Although again, I am a bit biast!

Most Els were gentlemans trucks, while looking for a Ranchero to build just about every one of them I came across was used up! I mean really used up!! They were all ridden hard and put away wet more times then you can count.

Don't feel too bad. I get mad as hell when I go to the parts store and ask for a part for my 79 and the guy says they will have to order it, but let a guy come in and ask for a part for a 55 - 57 chevy and he will pick it off the shelf and hand it to him. That really sucks. I had a 57 Fairlane 500 4 door hardtop when I was in high school back in the sixties and it earned me the nickname of outlaw from all of the chevy dweebs.

That El Camino is nice but because My Dad bought this one new, and we have had it the whole time, I would rather have this one.
    Just my opinion

    Guys,
The whole thing is.... Chevy and GMC made one HECK of a lot more El Caminos than Ford made Rancheros!! Plus, since they almost ALL have Small block V8s in them they can make a lot of horsepower CHEAP!!! All the speed parts interchange from Camaros and Chevelles, so they are so easy to pop 300+ horses from the motor. A bit harder, though not impossible, from most of the 289/302 Rancheros out there.
I just like the fact that mine is NOT an El Camino!!! Which is why I bought it in the first place!
