Me and a buddy are starting to plan a 2019 road trip in the Ranchero, this time to the NASCAR race at Sonoma; it's the closest venue to us here in Oregon. We've been to the track during the off season in 2017, but never during a race weekend.

Anyone been recently? Any advice you can pass along? Might tent camp if there's anything near the track, and we have access to a timeshare in Windsor, about 20 miles north.

I haven't been in a long time myself, but drive past occasionally. Those times when I have, if there was a race event, traffic around the raceway area was a nightmares. And traffic always sucks up hwy 101 between SF and Santa Rosa (Windsor is just N of Santa Rosa) The timeshare sounds nice, but camping might be your best bet to avoid all of that.

Thanks for the info. Have you ever camped there? I have no problem camping as long as there's a Honey Bucket available.

Sonoma is only about an hour north of me. You could camp in my back yard, but you would have to mow it first.

No, I haven't camped there but it looks like there is plenty of camping available...

I did a quick search for "honey bucket" but got no results. Don't know why...
The map shows showers so it is a good guess that the rest is there. Probably a good idea to call them?

You could always join the campers under the overpass a couple miles up the road from me.

Either way, I think it won't be an issue there.
