Just picked up a 74 Ranchero. Looking forward to playing and having fun. Also hoping to find more resources concerning these vehicles.
Welcome to the jungle! I had a '74 Squire, once upon a time. There are plenty of resources on this forum, and a lot of knowledgeable peeps, so don't hesitate to ask. What drivetrain do you have? What are your plans for your rig?
Good morning, Plan at the moment is to dive in and get the driveline set up correctly, new shocks, upper a-arm bushings, update to a 4 barrel intake and carb, HEI distributor, clean up the exhaust leaks, new carpet. Body is ok for now, has some issues but nothing I am going to tackle immediately. Right now she drives like a pig and I know she can be much more.
Welcome to the Forum. Good aftermarket companies for these vehicles are www.autokrafters.com www.macsautoparts.com www.dearbornclassics.com Also if you are on Facebook I have groups that is specific to these vehicles as they are built on the Gran Torino platform so many of the parts interchange to the Ranchero. This is my Main group https://www.facebook.com/groups/1968to79FoMoCoClub/?ref=share Also have a parts group for used parts or New Old Stock https://www.facebook.com/groups/TorinoGranTorinoRancheroParts4SALE/?ref=share
For carpet I only use ACC as they supply the carpet to the other vendors so better to buy direct https://www.accmats.com/
Thank you everyone for the help and info. I do need to find one front bumper rubber insert for the bumperette. If anyone has one please let me know.
They are not perfect but I got a set off 76 Ranchero bumperetres. 1 has a round impression like it hit another vehicle and a bolt left a dimple. Other has a scuff mark. They are actually made of plastic not rubber. There is a plastic filler you could scuff these up and fill the imperfections smooth then prime them, sand primer and paint them with a black texture spray paint then snap them on your bumperettes. Either that or keep searching but these are at least intact and no cracks or breaks
Look fine to me, am looking to replace one that is missing. How much are you looking to get for them? Feel free to call me at 772-284-4746
