Popping noise

Afternoon all,after what seemed forever I got my 67 out and about today for the first time since late October,started right up,like I just drove it yesterday,when I parked it and was putting on the cover I heard a popping sound,not loud but sounded like if you pressed on a soda can and it popped,and then it happened a second time,any thoughts on what it might be?as always thanks for any insight you can give me

 

One possibility: radiator cap relieving pressure.

Do you have a PCV valve, plus a place for venting? Maybe in the valve covers?

 

Hey Phil,Yupp have a pcv valve,not sure about a place for venting,I’ll check in the morning

 

like breathers in the valve covers?
Or one at the back of the intake?
