OK I know the Marti report will tell me the date my Ranchero was built but is there anyway to tell how far along in the production it is? I would like to know how many came off the line before mine. The last part of the VIN is 105923, but where is that in the actual production of Rancheros? Is it even possible to tell? I know from my date of "originally sold" it is 1969 and my block code is also in 69 (August 18th) and I believe the date code from my info tag shows a date of August 27th (1969). I just wondered how many 1970 Rancheros had been built by then.

I really could not care less about how many had the very rare, deluxe, high performance chrome battery caps.

I believe that the 6-digit sequence number starts at 100,000. If so, that would make yours the 5,923rd built.

True if it starts at 100,001.
If it starts at 100,000, it would be # 5,924

That is true but of those how many are Ranchero GTs. The information I have seen says about a total of 3,905 1970 GTs were built. I think the 5,923/5,924 has to be more related to the total number of vehicles produced at that time. There surely weren't 5,923 1970 Rancheros built by the end of August 1969. They had only been building them for a few months.
