Said to hear this, he was a musical genius. A bit hard to get along with by all accounts, but a very skilled and talented guitarist. RIP to one of the best.
Was shocked and saddened to hear this, the guy was truly ground breaking creating a sound no one had heard before. Rick Beato released a video pretty soon after the news broke, he sounded really cut up about it. Its a terrible loss.
I grew up in the 80's (high school) and VH was the beginning of the end of the last great rock bands. Everybody that played guitar wanted a "Flying Vee". Coming from that era that he "Got" Valarie Bertinelli was huge the way he got her was even more impressive. He got "permission" as it were when he met her parents and pulled out an acoustic 12 string and proceeded to play a whole host of classical music to which they were fans. That he named his son Wolfgang after Mozart was a real tribute to the legacy of music. I have so many memories wrapped up in VH songs, first (well you know), drag racing, Frisbee, wrenching on cars, driving submarines, first deployment, when CD's came out. The reason I married my wife (30 years this past June) was due to a VH (Hagar era) song, "When it's love". Eddie you were missed long before you were gone and the world is lessened by your absence. Cheers, Doc
This is the greatest interview with EVH I've seen. I was only going to watch a few minutes of it, but an hour later.....
