For about $80 you can get one of those dashboard dyno things. They will record your RPMs and shift points along with acceleration rates. Makes it a lot easier to see where to tweak your technique.
That was a nice BB Chevy Nova that red lighted. If you watch the vidio you will see that the Ranchero gets the win light.
This Ranchero pulls hard mid track after it gets some traction.
I went by that Nova like he was tied to a stump.
They work great too. Highly recommended.
Nice! looks like fun, thanks for sharing vidio.
That is awesome.....can't wait to hit the track......
man i'm green with envy.......
5/26 @ Irwindale 1/8 mile this pass was 7.24 at 99.1 MPH. The video man is Scott Monk and he put the roll cage in the Ranchero. Scott also has informed me that I leave the line like I'm going for milk at the corner store and my waterbox action is like a girl is drivin, but the motor sounds good.
It's not that bad
Dial that converter up more on the launch. You want the tires to spin so the launch does not pull your RPMs down.
If you work on your 60ft times you will develop some muscle memory that will make things a lot less chaotic.
Like most things in life, in drag racing practice and skill do what equipment can't.
Alot of good advice, I'm learnin.
man that thing moves.....very nice
Run looks great!
As you know the quest for ET gets under your skin. Pure fun for me
Getting traction now and hitting the tires hard. Got my best 60 ft last night in the 100 degree heat 1.69 @ 60 doesnt sound like much , but its a target I wasn't able to reach. Went 7.1 and still 99.1 mph. Dont have video because it was hot and alot of people found other things to do and that was OK, PUSSYS Glad my wife doesnt read these post or I would be out of a car.
I emailed her a link....
That's OK because she can read my simple little mind.
Ready to go to Irwindale this Thursday and Fontana Saturday. Hope to break 100 MPH at Irwindale, for bragging rights with my wife. She hasn't been able to take the car for a 1/8 mile pass because it was TOO HOT last time.
I managed to go 7.054 at 100.14 mph tonight and the track photographer caught the big Ranchero with daylight under the front wheels!!!!!!! Hit my best 60 foot of 1.64. This on Street Radials. Having a fun with this car
Congrats on the new PB!!
Get that photo posted here eh.
That ain't easy, lifting the front wheels off the ground in a boat liks a Ranchero. Nice work. Get that photo up!!!
I ordered the picture and cant down load the picture, but here is a link to the Ranchero with the drivers side up. Had to see, but I have the 8.5X11 and I'm STOKED to see it off the ground and cant wait to get the other one.
That's the fiberglass bumper I made.
