I took the '66 on it's first trip this weekend. Went up into Oregon near Springfield to play with chainsaws, had a good time. The Ranchero did well, I love having a V8 and even though I didn't try to save gas, it got over 18 mpg.

How we found our `67 500XL... sat for 24 years (1982-2006), we had it running in 3 weeks for under $250 in parts and about 10 hours of work.

Hi andrewok yes well they aint what you would call cheap mine above is the 2014 model brought September of that year so 15 months old cost me $37,000  which is about $25,500 USD
The 2015/16 model has had a grill face-lift but essentially the same car, as pictured below they are anywhere between $41,000 and 47,000 (28 - 32,000 USD)
The prices vary as they are not selling very well everyone here that used to own utes seem to be favoring the Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux and Nissan BT 4 x 4's over the Utes (Utility Vehicle) even the second hand ones are slow I have seen one the same as mine 70,000k/m - 40,000 miles asking $25000 which is $17000 USD good buying I would think ............ ;)

Sporty yes they get along quite nicely powered 3984cc 24V DOHC Variable cam 6 cylinder engine which delivers around 195KW (265HP) with a six speed sequential shift automatic and a LSD diff.
They have all the electronic goodies GPS Satellite navigation, Blue Tooth, Hands free phone, stereo & climate Mp3 USB connectivity, LCD touch screen windows style .............. etc. Great around town wonderful on the open road with Traction control, sports suspension, dynamic stability control ........... etc
Currently its running at 10 liters/100 km = 23.5214583 miles/gallon(US) so is economic to boot

Still need to replace my 1975 GT Ranchero which was moved on due to frame/chassis issues that couldn't be resolved ........... :( one day the exchange rate has killed that for now

    Cheers bigears :)
