    What looks better?????

I was playing around with some striping ideas. I used some red oxside primer and black just to get an idea. Let me know what you guys think. Short stripe/long stripe/no stripe.

I added the "MX" lettering too I know it needs to be moved and the letters larger but I just wanted to get an idea.

That looks good, but do you think about trying a lazer strip?

Are you refering to a reflective type like the one used on the ranchero/torino? If so No I have not yet. Since the topper will be the same red as the ranchero I was leaning more in the direction of a mat or gloss black stripe with the " MX" logo.

How about chrome lettering, sorta OE looking? I'll see what I can dig up that has an M and and X.

Thanks guys for the help and replies. I am still plugging forward on this thing in hopes to have it ready for spring/ early summer. I do like the idea of the chrome scripts and while I orginally considered it I did not have any extras. But thanks to sean and LS chero for offering up some. I will try it now (LS sent a pm).

Well folks at it again and it's photo time :D. First off worked hard on getting bodywork somewhat straight. I turned my focus on the lift system that would be used for the hatch. Never knew there where so many different sizes of those gas lift units to choose from! Found a set that works pretty nice. I installed them and the hatch needs a little help to bring it up the first 4 inches and then it goes on it's own. The same applies for the ride down. It will hold nice until that last 4 inches then YOU need to hold it or it will slam shut. Otherwise I really like it. I am using a 25 LB unit now. I would think a 30 would stop that problem. Anyway here are the photos:

    Topper update

Well folks have not had an update in a while but I assure you I have been very busy! The Topper is coming along very well. But there is a lot of work (small detail stuff) that has been done to make sure this thing looks half way desent. Here are some photos to show where its at now. Been doing a lot of spot putty, sand, prime go over it again to see what I missed and do it again. It is getting there and "should" look good when done. :)
