Finally, after several false starts, and finding new backing, I was able to get the door cards mounted. I ended up using a 4x8 sheet of 1/16 plastic I found at Home Depot for backing. Not perfect but I am happy with them. Note, no window handles. I opted for electric windows and power door locks.
Nice day. Red Rocket needed a wash-too much dust in the garage. Used my new Ryobi hand held pressure washer with a foaming attachment. Worked great. Also replaced the vacuum advance on the distributor. No vacuum on the old one. Really improved the idle!
This week, it was warm/dry enough to finally install the door weatherstrip. I did something different. I used 3/8" vhb tape, after prepping both surfaces with the recommended stuff. No mess. Went on well and seems to be sticking well too. Time will tell.
Haven't done much lately. Moved from a condo to a house(about 1/4 mile away), with a 2 car garage!. Much more room to work, once I get the house put together.
I moved last July. I drove the Red Rocket to the new place & put her in the garage. Finally had time to pull her out(on her own power) & give her a bath. I hope I'm far enough on the house that I can spend time with her.
Fall cleaning. I found the emergency lights at a n auction. From the early 70's. Looks cool for a car show & easy to remove. Yes, lights & siren work. My daughter is making a cover for the lights.
