It was March 6, 1836. On that fateful day, Davy Crockett woke up and rose from his bunk on the main floor of the Alamo where 183 men waited to do battle. He then walked up to the observation post along the west wall of this fort. William B. Travis and Jim Bowie were already there, looking out over the top of the wall. These three great men gazed at the horde of over 7000 Mexicans moving steadily toward them. With a puzzled look on his face, Crockett turned to Bowie and said, "Jim,are we having some landscaping done today?"
Remember the Alamo Yep, I remember The Alamo. 55 years ago there was a great skating rink behind it, loaded with good looking shegirls, on the floor in short short skirts. How could I forget the Alamo, and or the River Walk. What a break from the rigors of Cadets.
i'm sure if Travis, Crockett, and Bowie could see texas today they'd wonder why they bothered..................ray
They would wonder why when we defeated the Mexicans and occupied Mexico city we gave it back. I think if we had claimed it the country would be very different than today.
Yeah, we give too much back, and too much away. Some day, like today for example, it will come back to haunt us!!
