I went out to breakfast with Mom and my wife Sue and ran across a very nice 96 roadmaster estate wagon. Now the one we own now (bought it new in 96) has 245,000 miles on the clock and while it does still run great the body is just falling apart from severe rust. This car has 180,000 on the clock and the body is in exellent condition for the age and mileage. The interior is almost like new and everything inside works great. The only issues the car has is the cooling fans (electric) do not turn on and the bumper was slightly tweaked from behind so the tailgate will not open fully. That is because the plastic cover on the bumper binds with the bottom of the gate (easy fix). After talking with the sales guy I bought the car for $3K (was asking $5K I agreed to buy it as is and I will repair) and will bring it home on Tuesday. (I will post photos then) My daughter paid about 40% of the price for this car so her name will be on the title. Our old car has all the "Heavy duty" towing stuff (coolers for trans, oil, rad and load leveling system) I would have liked to swap all that out but I think I will just leave it alone since everything is all real high mileage anyway. Looking forward to bringing the new beast home!!Just wanted to share! thanks for reading :)

I love those things. You got a Vette engine for $3000. If you drive it to VA I'll give you $3200.

The Ranchero will fit in the back, if he folds down the seats. That's why he bought it.

Thats why I call it the "ROLLING SOFA" :D Its like sitting in your living room and rolling down the street. Can't beat a car that sports a 5.7LT1 and gets 22-24MPG and I can live in it if the wife gets mad :D. Working on getting the primary rad fan replaced now (one of the small items that needed attention).

Nice! I am a fan of the wagons, but this one suits me more. I have been looking for one for a long while, but have come up empty handed.

The caprice/roadmaster/caddy from that era 92-96 shared the same body/chassis plateform. The olds custom cruiser wagon did too but I think they stopped making those in 93.
