Isn't there a cable adjustment? The length of the shift arm on the tranny is also changable, usually there are many in the shifter kit.
I bought the shifter at the Moultrie Swap Meet several years ago, with no instructions or spare components... It was rigged for a Chevy, IF that makes a difference... PRND all line up good, but the others are a tad shy of making a good position... I reckon it will work in those gears though...I ain`t give up yet
I`ll be back on this project again... Necessity kinda hurries things along... Baloo quit shifting, but I ain`t gonna make a thread on this one My neighbor is GM All the Way, and he had a field day as we pulled Baloo home yesterday As we were coming outta the woods, I saw Chris videoing the FORD being pulled by the JD... Torque converter Mightta quit? It had been slipping for quite a spell... Rather than drop the tranny, it`ll be quicker & easier to finish the 5.0EFI project
Welded chain, more like... I would like to see you get back on the 5.0 part also; could you bring up that thread with a recap?
http://www.ranchero.us/forum/index.php?threads/rusty-5-0l-efi-swap.15654/page-7#post-258883 I`ve beena moving her around in the yard so Ann can cut grass and it not die underneath... Yes, I got incentive again
Hose came off of my modulator this past weekend. Quick and easy fix and was back on the road in no time.
Cranked Baloo up, to see what she`d do... Found that reverse works good, but won`t budge forward at all... I backed her all the way around the house to the barn... I checked them vacuum rubbers when it started acting up in lower gears, jerking and not wanting to go forward, without high revs to get moving... At that tme, before it quit, once it got to 2nd it was OK, shifted to high and would go fairly well... I sure ain`t no expert on trannies, D
Yessir, @Billy Zoom I`ll double check myself by pulling them off the metal tube and both ends... I just felt for dry, brittle and leaks when I checked before... Thank Y`all for these tips, Dennis
Dennis, check all the vacume hoses on that engine before you rule that out. A bad hose or leak elsewhere can do you in by cutting down the vacume to everything.
Yeah @Hillbilly "It`s a rainy day in GA" song lyrics comes to mind right now, but I`ll double check things again soon Went to Atlanta/Cobb yesterday for the Great American Motorcycle Show as volunteers for ABATE of Georgia, so We weren`t here to look at nothing from 6am - 12am I sure can procrastinate, D
Dennis and Ann can testify, if cats are smart as we like to think they are, how come I can't get my herd to even learn to rebuild a carburetor ? Like I said, my friends who have spent much time at my place can vouch for the fact that I be over run with them critters here on the farm. Last kinda' accurate head count put the number at 47, all spayed or neutered. Dennis will like this, found that I have a momma bobcat living in the big barn. Scares the crap outta' me every time it let's out a squall right outside of the garage at night. Guess that is better than having bears in the yard.
Do not know if a cat can build a carburetor , they sure play a mean game of running vacuum line , and i had one help with a rear window install also / yes better than bears ,i seen where the dragged a freezer off and made shreds of it
