I got a question for you. Me and the boy were on the way to Hockey the other day and seen one of those new mini cars they sell at the Mercedes dealerships. I was amazed how Tiny this thing was when we pulled up next to it. It was like half the size of my Taurus. How do these things fair in carsh tests as I am sure you have crashed a few of them.

Not too much of a big fan of "S" class here. For such expensive cars, how come most Mercedes are relegated to the throwaway duty of a taxi cab in other countrys ? I suspect ya got more real protection in a Crown Vic. I really wonder if a "Smart" involved in a collision with a SuperDuty would register as much more than a Chicago pothole at speed ? Yeah, I know it's snide, but those tiny cars might be fun on the commute from the computer to the fridge.

I saw those cars tested on one of those car shows sorry can't remember. They faired very good, I think there is a cage around the driver and passenger area. They hit the car pretty hard on a head on but not direct crash and the cockpit area was in very good shape. I was impressed.
I saw those cars all over London when I was there last year on a couple of visits, real easy to park. You really sit high in those compared to the MG Midget I used to drive. What doesn't impress me is the milage, they only get 36 mpg, not very impressive for a car that size, I want around 50 mpg before I consider one. I get 30 mpg in my 91 Sentra with no overdrive, 6 more mpg just isn't enough for me to get a new car.

You know RD, I can't remember, it's been in pieces for several years (actually pushing a decade). I was actually throwing the idea around of mounting some form of gas engine on it way back when, but I gave up the idea when I realized each engine I looked at was bigger than the last. Oh well, the 400cc Honda ended up in a riding lawn mower anyways. Maybe one of these days I'll throw it back together and actually ride it. I can tell you that I did crash test it several times (on accident), gravity's a heartless bitch!

I saw them "vended" in Holland in 2000, you get with a card, drive and drop off at another vended site; seems like a good car, a Mercedes.
