I had a pair of jet skis and trailer on Craigslist and Offerup for 3 weeks with very little action.
A family member put them on Facebook and they were GONE in 3 hours for cash !
    Fluke ?
Anyone have good luck selling on there ?
I don't want to but I may need to sign up.
CL and offerup are dead around here

Everything I've sold in the last few years, I've sold on Facebook marketplace. Screw ebay.

I paid $120 to put our Outback on Cars.com, and ended up selling it to a guy who saw it on Facebook. You have to migrate to where the people are.

And since C/L decided to slit everyone's throats on private car sales as well as their own, I don't bother with them anymore. But the big thing right now about OfferUp and Marketplace sellers, is they don't farking answer your messages or label they've sold the item in a timely manner.

C/L started assessing $5 and up charges on private car ads, rather than increasing how much car lot owners paid to do their ads. So a WHOLE LOT of would-be sellers ditched C/L for OU and FB MP.

Yup. I tend to think of them more as 'dumb bahstidges.'

I think they pretty much to. Half the ads were scams prior to charging. Needed to try some way to cut down on the bogus ads.

I've had some sketchy interactions on OfferUp, but never any issues buying or selling on Craigslist; in fact, I bought my Ranchero on CL. However, I've never tried to sell a complete car there either.

I bought mine on Craigslist too. A year after I'd looked at it the first time. The seller is a real nice guy and he and I still communicate about the truck as I make progress on the resto.

unless its small enough that shipping isn't an issue I don't bother selling on ebay for the few times I've tried to sell anything....listen to the Dummy ...local facebook marketplace works great! Sold my old blue
truck ( sniffle) and some fox mustang wheels and tires and it was a BREEZE!

After hearing friends and family gossip about each other as well as invent ways to be offended based upon what they saw on Facebook, I decided years ago it wasn't for me. Years later I read about FB sharing your data, info leaks and accusations of somehow manipulating the election.

Don't have an account and don't want one.

ORLY? I pop on on any weekend day, and it's like COVID sheltering-in-place instructions hit. Like everyone's at home.
