Finally! but what a let down. All this talk about..."We could see 6-12 inches" and all we got was a dusting. BITES!
I worked yesterday and today (in the cold butt rain!) getting the shelter built.
Figures that after I get the roofin' paper down, THEN it changes over to snow.
Anyhow....Trips under her new roof, stayin' dry while I'm finally in the house drying out.

    Yeah...

We are on the transition line here - temp outside is 34 but it is snowing and the only thing the snow is sticking to at the moment is the cars...

Good to read your shelter is progressing though - get warm and have a hot toddy or nine... :D:D:p

    Yup... we don't

Yup, we don't - I can tell you that two or more snowflakes are a natural disaster for the drivers hereabouts - seems every SUV owner thinks that rain slick roads and a little snow doesn't effect their cars and they still try to drive like idiots.

But... I grew up in snow country, and was based up in Illinois for the Blizzard of '79 so I know a little about snow. I will also be the first to admit that after living in Hawaii for 7 years and then spending 5 consecutive winters in the Middle East that I have absolutely no skill whatsoever in driving in snow anymore... :p

    Dang!

That means our "7 Weeks of Winter" haven't started yet... The clock starts when we have a snowfall of at least a couple of inches and it sticks for about 2 days - then we get wintry mixes and Nor'easters for the remainder until Spring springs...

Dang! I need that clock to start soon!!! Got cars to paint and need the weather/temps to get back up into the 70's.

We get inches to feet every year but I swear the first snow every year spurs a new experience for most drivers up here:confused:

    Snow

Yep we were supposed to get a bunch of it too, but all we did get was cold rain. The snow only came to the next county above us. About 2" of rain froze in the bed of my Ranger, and the doors were frozen shut this AM. No water in the cab though. Cold, sunny, and windy here today.

We has 5" Thursday, schools were closed, they let us out of work early, cars were in ditches everywhere, aaaahhhhhhhhh!. They even cancelled schools on Friday,...which was sunny and in the 50's. 90% of the snow was gone less than 24 hours after it got here. I drove 3 people home from work, in my little Saturn, because these Virginian's figured I could drive in the snow better than them. Seeing as I didn't go into a ditch, I guess they were right.

    overhang

There it is. Shingles go on this afternoon before the "freezing rain" hits tomorrow morning. Maybe they screw this forecast up and we'll get the 6" of snow we were supposed to get on Sat.

We got hit with a foot Saturday night, and right now its -12 outside with no wind, sure do wish my truck had a functioning heater!! Gotta admit though, it is fun to hit a 2 foot drift of snow at 40mph.:D Intentionally, I swear.

It started snowing here again last night and is expected to continue off and on through the rest of the week. It would not be so bad if there were not the 50 mph gust of wind that are accompanying the snow.

Been snowing since I got home from work at 6:30 this morning, about 4" of fluff covering things so far, supposed to continue through Wednesday. Not much wind and about 10degrees now, much warmer than the weekend.

Ya I know what you mean. Weather forcasts only work when it's flat for two hundred miles in every direction. We never know what were gonna get.
