Easy now, relax your grip on your pearls and have another scotch. Who told you where to look after thinking about your engine's symptoms ?

That's one nutty southern slang term. :) By the time I saw all these posts I had already taken off the manifold. I gave ya'all kudos for being right, though. Didn't I? If not.......

Is that anything like when she gives everyone in the audience a free car, then you get stuck with the taxes on it or forfeit the car ?

If she also gave you the money to pay the taxes, they'd tax you on that too. Can't win. If you can't afford to pay taxes on a free car, you don't need a car.

What, you can't find a cheap Chinesium bump stick and a cheap Chinesium retrofit tappet kit?

I want to keep the cars and keep them reliable. Chinesium does not support either objective. YMMV.

I took today off to A) get my intake back on, and B) get the car packed to move the kid to college tomorrow. I drove around the county this morning, hitting 4 different auto parts stores looking for the correct gasket. 3 didn't even have a 460 gasket set, and the other one didn't have the correct one. I ended up getting RTV, brake cleaner, antifreeze, a carb gasket, and heater hose, and ordered the gasket on Amazon. What's the world come to? No BBF intake gaskets in the county?

You have to consider the county, by who lives there.... How's that for 'pushing it?' ;):D

A former boss of mine used to brag about how he and his brothers used to make their own 'racing' head gaskets from grease-coated newspaper. From the time I heard that, I felt my BS meter peg. But I didn't call him on it, as I wanted to keep my job.
