I would be very leary of buying a Ford with the 6.0 Diesel in it. Their not known for being a good or reliable engine. I drove one at work for four years and while it ran pretty well, when it broke (and it did fairly reguarly) it was big money and time to fix. Blown headgaskets are top of the list, problems with EGR are a close second. Bad news is whenever any major engine work is required, it generally involves pulling the cab off the frame in order to access the engine. We had 15 or so of the trucks at work, finally got to the point where our fleet manager stopped ordering trucks with that motor in them, went with the gas V10 instead. The fuel mileage sucks but they seem to have been very reliable.

I've had an '11 F-450 with the new 6.7L Diesel for almost two years. That has been a good engine (so far) though looks like it would be a nightmare to work on (everything is under something else).

All that having been said we still have some trucks at work that are ~10 years old (ancient in my industry) with the 7.3 Diesel. The trucks are literally falling apart around that engine but they just keep running.
