I put in a new clutch kit & throw out bearing within the last 2 years, but I started getting some hellacious squealing and difficulty getting into gear recently; I figured it had to be the T/O bearing. So my road trip buddy Denny & I swapped a new one in today, and all is good. Denny has a great old shop that his Dad & uncle serviced Mercury outboards and cars in over the years, and has a 2 post lift & a trans jack. Had it out in 1 hour, ate some lunch, and had it back in in an hour & a half. Work is easy when you have the right tools & equipment.
Turns out one of the clips on the T/O bearing broke off; I found the clip in the bottom of the bellhousing. The bearing had also lost a lot of grease. Problem found & corrected.

I'm jealous! A shop with a 2-post lift to use.

Really -- can you post a pic of your trans lifter?

I'd also like to congrat you on the posts of your tricks and projects. Good photography, learn stuff from it.
