I put in a new clutch kit & throw out bearing within the last 2 years, but I started getting some hellacious squealing and difficulty getting into gear recently; I figured it had to be the T/O bearing. So my road trip buddy Denny & I swapped a new one in today, and all is good. Denny has a great old shop that his Dad & uncle serviced Mercury outboards and cars in over the years, and has a 2 post lift & a trans jack. Had it out in 1 hour, ate some lunch, and had it back in in an hour & a half. Work is easy when you have the right tools & equipment. Turns out one of the clips on the T/O bearing broke off; I found the clip in the bottom of the bellhousing. The bearing had also lost a lot of grease. Problem found & corrected.
Really -- can you post a pic of your trans lifter? I'd also like to congrat you on the posts of your tricks and projects. Good photography, learn stuff from it.
It belongs to my buddy, but it's just like this: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Big-Red...58513?source=shoppingads&locale=en-US#overlay It's mainly designed for automatics with a flat pan, but it worked fine for my T10 after we chained it down.
