It looks like time to bite the bullet. I think my 72 GT would look better with a set of Magnum 500's. I am looking at 15x7 all around or 15x7 fronts and 15x8 on the rear. How are these setups working out and does anyone have a pic showing the look with staggerd 7" fronts with 8" rears? Thanks.............. Greg
They will work fine with no clearance issues if you get a standard 15 inch wheel. If you want to rotate your tires, i would go 15x8 all around. You can get a good tire on that size wheel if you dont want to stagger, and still CAN stagger with just tires if you choose. Ill be doing this when i do wheels, 15x8 all around that is.
magnum's on ranchero Here is a shot of my 74 ranchero with 15x8 rims all the way around. P215/70/R15 front and P255/60/R15 rear. Now here is a shot of the Ranchero "MX". This has 15X7's all the way around with P225/70/R15 in front and P255/70/R15 in the rear.
Those look really good. I was concerned about clearance issues with 8" on the front. I will have to decide if I want staggered sizes or the same all the way around..........? Thanks Greg
I got a set of 15x7's at the Portland, OR Swap Meet from Specialty Wheels, Ltd in Portland OR. They had a show special on and I got an even better deal on some seconds they were unloading cheap! www.specialtywheel.com Question for the group: Is there someone who makes the Ranchero/Torino centers that bolt through from the back? Not sure about $50 bucks for pieces that can be popped out or fly off! Peter
I bought my Magnums at the columbus swap from Kentucky mustang. It was $619 for a set of four 15x7 wheels and the four center caps with the full set of lugs. 15X8 where $649 for the same deal. (kentuky mustang 1-888-861-0176)
Best deal I can find is at Summit for 15 x 8 with center caps. I will have to check local to see what I can find for tires. Greg
Bought mine from summit as well,15x8-255-60.Plenty of room,no rubbing on frame.Going to change out to 16 or 17 inch to clear rear disc installation.Too bad your not closer beast, would make ya hella deal.
Seems like I am never in the right place at the right time I am sure I would take you up on the deal! Greg
I have gone for 15 x 8 on all four with 4.25 in backspace fitted with 255 x 60 x 15 rear and 235 x 60 x 15 front - Perfect rides nice handles well and looks good with a nice rake .......... Life is easier with the same size rims all round
