I have a way to repair the cheap plastic bushing that Ford uses on their kickdown rods that always seem to be broken,,, THe first picture is of the packaging to get a description of the bushings,,, They are available at Lowes for about 2 bucks each,

The next is a before and after of the bushings prior to installing.

The rough fit up is next

Lastly the installed bushing ,,, It stopped all that slop and the rod stays straight and works fine ,,

All that is necessary is to trim the bushing to length,,, Leave it long and finish with a file,, You may have to open up the hole on your kick down rod but thats simple enough,..Hope this helps someone out!!

Ahhh ... sweet. But Lowes is a huge store, what section carries those bushings? What are they originally for?

They can be found in the hardware section in all those little drawers full of bolts and what not,,, I really dont know what the original intended use of them is but they work great for this project
