Our house is surrounded by old-growth Douglas fir trees, notorious shedders of needles. So I was up sweeping the roof so my wife can start planting stuff in our deck pots. While toiling away up there, it occurred to me that the shelter in place orders are a perfect scenario for the 'honeydew' lists to surface from every drawer in every household across America.......

    KHHAAAANNNNN!!!!!

My "dumb things I gotta do" list is full and getting fuller. By the minute. And is gaining prominence in moving to the refrigerator door. With added sheets. It's growing. Someone make it stop!

Luckily, Landyacht's list is all stuff he and I WANT to do. Break down the LTD to parts/cut up frame, do house wiring repairs/corrections, snake out the drain pipes, trim the trees, work on the Galaxie, maybe even put the PI heads back on without resurfacing...haha, no.

Joe (Landyacht) works at Home Depot, and it's an essential, so unless everything goes down the toilet (both figuratively and literally), he has a job for the time being. I'm on disability, so there's that.

I've replaced the seals around the basement door (bugs didn't even have to crawl under it, they could stand up and walk), pulled out the ladder and cleaned all the windows (first time in a few years), tuned up the Ranchero and sealed up the hole around the steering column, moved almost a cord of firewood from the driveway to the wood shed one wagon load at a time, walked the Appalachian Trail some, mowed the yard and picked up the winter debris, etc. Still much to do. And, I'm telecommuting too.

Since I'm retired I do the same thing every day. Wake up, eat breakfast, sit down with the laptop, maybe lunch, sit down with laptop, eat dinner, watch TV, go to bed watch TV, sleep, and repeat.
Every day is Ground Hog Day!
Too cold to do outside lawn stuff, too cold to open garage doors to paint Rancho kick panels. Too lazy to set up Rancho on the lift to do front end stuff.

designated essential so no off time for me. Techs gotta keep the economy going...until manufacturing grinds to a halt.

I prefer to think of as everyday is Saturday!

Ground Hog Day was my 1993/4 Deployment aboard USS New Orleans, where we spent 108 days off the coast of Somalia… Yeah, they even played "Ground Hog Day" for reveille, for most of the 108 days!

Ran errands, went to storage just to find that the shelf unit was smaller than I thought, so I have to cut some shelf pieces smaller to fit, gathered up a bunch of extraneous crap to put up for sale, and some parts for Babe and the F150, came home, cut said shelves, again, stacked the parts on another shelf unit in the garage, looked for some stuff in the garage, then came in for dinner. That, after sitting on my @$$ for the last four days, when I fell and hurt my back.

I've been working from home for 8 years now, so it's ho-hum to me. I get so much done around the house (when I feel like it). Honestly I never want to commute to work again.

You and me both. I drove into Portland a couple weeks ago during the morning rush; I can't believe I did that for 20 years.

Every time I've driven around on the bridges crossing the Willamette River downtown, I lose my mind. The Orange Crush and Malfunction Junction have nothing on Downtown Portland. It's so screwed up, no one's come up with a universal nickname for that disaster.
