Most do not know Dan’s absence was do to a battle with Cancer. He was a tough guy and didn’t want any sympathy. He was a great friend to me and many of us here on site. He will be sorely missed by all of us here. His knowledge was second to none. RIP Dan hopefully you are driving your Ranchero up there.

Wow that is a surprise. I noticed he has not posted lately but thought he was just out and about enjoying his retirement.
RIP to my buddy Dan W.

Dan was the first person to help me with questions when I first joined this forum in 2008. Always willing to share and assist. RIP and condolences to his family.

SHIT! He was the best guy here. He gave me a few 'dressing downs' as they say in the military, but I always felt they were warranted and handled correctly. He was the IIHS go-to when we needed someone out that way to look at used cars and stuff. This blows.

Very passionate guy, knew his Fords. Always ready to help anyone with a question. Also ready to smack around anyone who got of line here; I still have a few welts. Great guy, very sad to hear this. R.I.P. Dan!

Yes, I'd made a couple slip-ups myself, corrected them immediately, and he was satisfied. But I wonder if he had a 'notebook,' to keep track of us ne'er-do-wells?
