So I leave work today and decide to go to Pick n Pull, I am sitting in front waiting for them to open. Another Car pulls up and this guy gets out walks over and asks ( with a British accent) if he can take a picture of the PYL. So we start talking then he recognizes the Ply turns out he is Jimbob what a great guy helped him pull a set of finders for his 73 Lincoln back in the UK. What are the chances of meeting a fellow member from the U.K. at PIP in Moss Landing and on top of that being the only 2 cars in the parking lot!
I'm not sure whether I'm more amazed by the unexpected meeting with a fellow Ranchero.US member from another country or the fact that you skipped your breakfast burrito. The odds of both are pretty unlikely.
Well it was a blast to get to meet and help a U.k. member on a chance meeting. If we had both not gotten there when we did our paths would have never crossed, If he arrived 15 min later I would have been inside already and he would have snapped a couple of pics of the PYL. then went in and pulled his parts and I would have walked through the yard and then went home and neither one of us would have ever known how close we were that day! This had to be fate, anyway it was great to meet Martin and get a chance to help him pull some parts, and have a great car story to pass around! So have fun and poke away you guys wont spoil it!
It is strange (in a good way) when things like that happen. I've had a similar experience in my life and it's hard to believe that it's completely accidental.
When you have 'similar' experiences, they are not accidental at all. You are most likely stalking the person and get caught. Creep. If you remove the breakfast burrito from the original equation, the chances are 130,000 to one that Carl would meet a Brit at a junkyard in California. By comparison, it's even money he would meet a New Mexican at a strip joint.
A Brit, maybe. The odds of running into a particular Brit in a junkyard in California are more like a gazillion to one.
i gotta tell you everyone, i was amazed as Carl was! ...Carl is a great guy and i am sure grateful for his help, i think id still be there now pulling those fenders without his help! ....now just gotta workout a way of getting them back to the UK!
