No I didn't I'm proud of you Carl you went old ford. Now punch out that Windsor get a stout cam, put some flat tops in it, shave those heads a tiny bit stroke it and build it up and finally see those 5.0's aren't all that.
No not OLD ford new ford EFI Read thread http://www.ranchero.us/forums/showthread.php?t=31114 Cannot see my self every going back to a crappy carb setup...
cool find Carl however since you found metal inside the motor... you need to break it down there could be slivers in the cylinders binding in the rings, do it right Carl take it down clean all the parts put in new bearing and rings at minimum we new gaskets etc etc...definitely replace that timing chain it has too much slack. Oh and for the record, 10k miles on a stroker motor it was built to race, with shrapnel in the pan... that motor is used up and needs rebuilt. Just my two cents rolling on the floor.
Naw metal was from oil slinger no problem, Boroscope shows crosshatch still on cyl walls bearings plastic gaged fine and it was a wheelchair van so it was not raced just hot rodded Its not a Cleveland it can handle 10K without breaking and chain was already replaced
I heard there is a new Disney moving coming out about a school of goldfish who take in an odd ball called Bean Burrito. The story covers it's conception and how the goldfish nuture it from the day it showed up in the sewer treatment plant, how the goldfish and burrito finally escaped from the plant and lived happily ever after in Lake Michigan. The movie has yet to be named. My kids are all excited to see it when it makes it to theaters.
I hope they name the movie 'Little corn eyes'. After all that was the last thing the young lovers saw on that fateful morning. Those little eyes and meaty cheeks staring up during that spinning ride need to become more than a painful memory to two misguided souls.
Hey Carl, been waiting to see if anyone jumped on ya about that timing chain box. That's the one you traded for a set that fits the Ford, right ?
Nope Same part# fit both cheby and Ferd just the gears are different its on the motor and fits perfect!
I can't help but notice that this thread keeps getting hijacked. I can understand how some my be squimish about the sad end for the little fellow, but as you pointed out it all ends well.
Yes there is, it's on the head of that poor little fellow that was concieved during the man love episode between FF and Sean.
Yes, this thread has it all. Bromance, heartache, a triumph against all odds. It is an epic story that needs to be told before Disney inserts talking goldfish into it. Myself, I think it was the spirit of muffler man watching over little Corn Eyes that brought about the happy ending.
A good candidate for being one of the great threads. Especially because of the Devine intervention you had happen.
was it a 'quicky' or did the two get together longterm ???? anybody got a video of the said 'event' ?????
The loss of little Corn Eyes was too much, but they remain friends. At least one of them switched teams and is raising a family.
I bet the government has a video, they have cameras everywhere. I bet ole Muffler man has a camera in his eye.
