For sale soon is a 1968 Ranchero 500. - Located in Panama City Florida. - One car owner from California, (daughter relocated to Florida…sold to me last month). - Great running 289, 62K original miles...smooth shifting C4, (verified by certified mechanic). - New front-end suspension kit installed. - Undercarriage is spotless, straight body, never been wrecked...no rust anywhere! - Factory Air (very cold), New front Power Disc Brakes, Power Steering. - Beautiful interior, newly upholstered black ostrich leather seats, new carpet and floor mats. - Newly painted; body, bed liner coating (Omni-paint), undercarriage, and motor bay. - New black vinyl tonneau cover. - What should I ask for it? - Thanks -Tracy
This is a tough question to answer without any pictures. First realize that for whatever reason Rancheros are not one of the "hot" classic cars. There is a very small demand for them so therefore they are not very valuable. The 1968 model year is not one of the sought after years plus the one you are selling is just a plain 500 with the 289. If the paint and body are as in good condition as you say they are a fair price would be in the $4K to $7K range I would think. Laters, Jeff
I mean no offense, but 'no rust anywhere' could only be true if the car was sealed in an airtight chamber at zero humidity for the last 40 odd years, or it has been restored. Without pictures it impossible to appraise. Rancheros are tough cars to sell sometimes. If an individual gets a hankering for your car, it can fetch a decent price. Otherwise, with the exception of a few specific years and models, they can take a bit of effort to move.
Hi Ribald1, No offense taken. Yes, it has been totally restored, (perhaps I should mention that next time) and there "was" two small rust spots under the drivers door and the rear drivers side quarter panel. I understand pictures are desired however my body guy has taken ill of late and pictures will be forthcoming. Thanks for your input...hopefully someone will get a hankering for my 68 when she goes on the block. -Tracy
