    Looks like a '53 Studebaker Commander, a great design by Raymond Loewy I believe. A real popular Salt Flats car due to its slippery shape.

    I believe it had a 289 V8, but it was a Studebaker design, not Ford. The engine was so-so, but that body was sleek.

    That's a classic! Looked for one for years eight out of school. But all were too expensive.

    Sat in a hawk (Silver Hawk) at a dealer around 1959 (?) Might have been earlier. Looked nice but not drivable with my frame. A foot / legroom thing.

    Not enough of the body is showing -- might be a Hawk. Floor consoles didn't come in 53-54 coupes or hardtops, nor engine-turned dash trim. And if it's a Hawk, could have a supercharger. Wheels look like from a Ford.

    I’ll take another pic tomorrow,the one I took showed the whole car,I’ll see if I can find out some info on it,just showed up last week,it’s so hot here,high 90s every day,don’t know how you deal with the heat in the south west,got me wishing for snow!
