I finally can see getting back to work on my '70 Ranchero. I currently have 14X6 steel/chrome GT rims that need to be replaced. I like this style but wondering if a 15" would fit for better selection of tires or if the 14" is fine and not to worry about it. Any input would be appreciated.
Had thought about doing those when I went to 15". Went aftermarket instead. Like the looks of them fit will be no problem and like you say get better selection of tires. I went 15 x 7 on front , would have preferred x6 to do a narrow tire up front. Running 2056515 on front. 15 x 8 on rear with 4.5" backspacing ( if memory correct) and 2556015 . Note 275 width will fit without rub. Go for it.
These are 15" American Racing. Their version of the Magnum 500. The steel chrome GT's seem to be harder to find new with less choice in size.
Jeff, I've been working on mine and need to correct myself on front tire size as I'm actually running 2156515. Basically it was the 7" width that made me go with that size, the 65 aspect was to help keep the front end down in height. Here is a sight that lists the rims with tire selection . https://www.wheelsforless.com/tw-vn...MIiLCkndr_hwMVEGFHAR1GMCg0EAQYBCABEgKJU_D_BwE Coker used to offer the Styled steel in up to 15x10". But since everything had shut down some stuff has disappeared. Good luck.
