Who Dat ?
Yeah, criminy, those containers are supposed to be able to stay closed normally (lower ones in a well car with longer upper ones on top, which is supposed to make access really difficult, if not impossible), but where there's a desperation, there's a way. And for whatever freaking reason, you cannot convince the railroads, the shippers or the sales companies that doing business in the L.A. Basin is a bad business practice. Short of building tall walls along the rights-of-way, and involving local LEOs in assisting in patrolling the rights-of-way, you will not stop the thieves.
I know that we are not supposed to get political in here but maybe its time for some light and civil conversation , as for me I am a conservative Republican in what used to be Texas.
You mean it's not conservative republican any more?
PS: I kinda enjoy the no politics. I get enough of it in other places.
Not exactly. The cancer that is California is spreading out from Austin (which is Portland, OR weird anyway) and San Antonio, and we who live here (including little ol' me, who has lived here for two years as of today) don't want the locusts doing the move. They did it to Washington State in the late '80s through to the dot-com bubble bust, and it's screwed to a fare-thee-well.
Union Pacific sent L.A. D.A. George Gascon a letter about the mass looting of their trains & expressed frustration with Gascon’s soft on crime policies. 100+ arrests, most suspects released within 24 hours on zero bail. UP now considering avoiding LA County.
I second that statement.
NO Politics is Correct and has been that way for 20 years on this site ans will stay that way!
Carl really did say the smartest thing here!
Hmmm ... I recall a time -- less than 20 years back -- when there were politics on this board. Check your old emails.
